Grilling really can’t get much easier than this. After assembling the grill (which takes only a few minutes), simply plug it in and allow about 10 minutes to fully preheat the surface while you gather your steaks, kebabs, or whatever’s to be grilled. The electric heat has an adjustable range from low (for keeping food warm) to high (for searing steaks). The nonstick grill surface not only means you can use a minimum of added fat, but it also makes cleanup a cinch. The surface has a subtle slope, with channels that draw accumulated fat or other liquids into a tray just below the surface. The high domed and vented lid helps create a circular flow of hot air to ensure even cooking–particularly important for a large roast or whole chicken.

The grill can be placed either directly on a tabletop or atop its pedestal. On its own, the grill surface stands about 6 inches high; with the pedestal, it stands about 2-1/2 feet high, not counting the domed lid. The pedestal is plenty sturdy for cooking, but the grill still seems a bit top-heavy, so pay special attention if grilling in a high-traffic area or near kids. Because of the easy electric heat, this grill can be used outdoors or indoors–when using it indoors, though, be prepared for potential spattering, steam, or other side effects of cooking. –Cynthia Nims

Our new apartment will not let us have charcoal or propane grills. We’re big BBQ fans and were determined to find a way to keep enjoying our favorite Summer foods. We had had a George Foreman counter top grilling machine in the past so we looked to see if there were any sort of electric grills and were so excited when we found this grill! We bought it before Memorial Day & had our annual BBQ. All of our family and us LOVED how our food came out! One of the best parts is that this grill can be used with or without the stand. We used this grill right on our kitchen table and then just set it on the counter out of the way. My husband’s favorite thing was this was crazy easy to clean! We are so happy & ready for all the upcoming Summer holidays!

YES get it! I love mine!! I just got it in today and did a batch of 8 Oklahoma onion burgers and had room to spare!! I started off at turning the dial to “5” and that charred one side of the burgers so then turned it down to 3 and a half. So 3.5 to 4 is a good number to turn the temperature dial to. Which maybe instructions would say that… I didn’t look any up online and the only ones it comes with are on how to put it together which took a whole 5 minutes at most. It’s very easy to put together and you’ll be grilling in no time!

NO they aren’t going to make your food taste like charcoal… I don’t know why anyone would think anything other than charcoal would do that… That being said- who on earth does anyone want food that tastes like coal and chemicals? I sure won’t miss lugging bags of charcoal and lighter fluid home!!

The dome lid? Genius! It locks in the moisture and it made for the most juicy burgers you’d ever had- hold the grease! After cooking 8 burgers the grease tray looked pretty full. They were large burgers though. So i’d say maybe between batches for fatty foods like burgers that you would have to lift the plate up and drain the fat. It does have open slats in the grill bottom so if the grease tray goes over, it’ll come out the bottom. That could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Ha.

No it doesn’t come with an actual thermostat but you can easily drill you a hole into the lid and screw one on there. They are available here on amazon or your local hardware stores.

    Hope this helps!!

Hopefully my bad experience was just a fluke and I’ve reordered a new one!, May 27, 2017

This grill has been AMAZING. It heats up quickly to grill steaks, chicken, salmon, pork chops, burgers, and vegetables. It really seals in the flavors and everything comes out tasting delicious. We ordered it to use on our covered deck because we are not allowed to have a gas or charcoal grill where we live. We store the electrical component/plug-in indoors immediately after use once the grill cools off and cover the body of the grill with a heavy duty grill cover. 11 months after we purchased it I noticed a strong plastic electrical burning odor coming from the grill while it was heating up and the component that plugs into the grill was super hot and I immediately unplugged it thinking it was close to catching fire. And I’m glad I did because the element was melting and burning (see photos). I called Amazon and they were nice enough to offer me a full refund on the amount I paid for it and told me to dispose of the grill. I’m hoping it’s a fluke and not typical because up to this point it worked perfectly and there were no issues. I like the grill so much that I’m reordering another with the refund I was given. I’ll give an update in a few months on the replacement because I don’t want to discourage anyone from buying it unless it happens again.

Update 12/20/17: The grill has been terrific so far and is performing without any problems. No problem with the cord or plug in getting too hot. It’s winter now so we won’t be using it much until next season. I’ll give another update then.
